Movie Scripts

Here at alliance of literary societies our focus is on the writings of movie scripts.

We will be focusing on great scripts that have come out in all sorts of scripts from dramas to action to comedy to many more.

the first one is the movie

The Godfather – Based on the book writen by Mario Puzo. The Screenplay is by Fracis Ford Coppola and Mario Puzo. It is about a New York family mafia that is having a wedding for the daughter of one Don Vito Corleone. After a little while Michael the son is introduced even know he does not want to become mixed up in the family business eventually he does. As times are changing and Don is getting older the competing mafia family’s are starting to sell drugs and they need the Don’s influence to improve business. The movie is based around this and the fight between the mafia family’s and in the inter. It stars Marlon Brando, Al Pacino, Robert Duvall, and many more stars. For many big name actors it was there first big movie. It is an american classic movie. Regarded my many as one of the best movies of all time.

For our next great script we have

Pulp Fiction – This 1994 great movie was written by Quentin Tarantino. It was his second film he made after Reservoir Dogs. It was a very eclectic made movie and really made Quentin a household name when it came to movies. It stared Uma Thurman, Samuel L Jackson, and Jon Travolta which revitalized Mr. Travolta’s career. It has inspired many movies from the neo-noir genre. It is very
dialogue heavy. It follow the life of Uma Thurman and her marriage to a kingpin. Then Samuel L Jackson and Jon Travolta come in as hired hands. Chaos ensues and the story develops from there. Wonderfully written there is not another movie that has come out like this. If you get a chance to watch this movie even know it is very heavy on blood and gore you will be happy you did.

Next on the list is

Groundhog Day – The story is written by Danny Rubin and the screenplay is by Danny and Harold Ramis. This movie stars Bill Murray. It should be a boring movie about a man that relives the same day over and over again but it is great. The focus of this movie on the mundane is that which makes it great. Bill Murray is brilliant in this comedy. If you are ever in the mood for a funny film this is a great one.

Now for the first mystery movie on the list

The Usual Suspects – Christopher McQuarrie wrote the script to this wonderful film and as mystery’s go probably the best mystery  movie ever made. It stars a young Kevin Spacey among others that is a witness to a crime that nobody knows how to solve. The constant guessing who did it is throughout the whole movie even to the very end it will keep you speculating on who did it. This is a must watch.

Next week we will go over the writing on porn set movies. I know I know some will say that there is not any good writing on those types of movies but in the past few years nsfw types of movies have really stepped up there game in regards to a literary stance. From the films at to others we will dive into it next time
